Students to Show Off Their Speaking Skills

The 演讲之战 was back at 西北维斯塔学院. 周二, 4月25日, students showed off their speaking skills and competed for $100 to $400 scholarships and prizes at 3:30 p.m. in room 212 in Desert Willow Welcome Center.

After a four-year pause because of the pandemic, the 2023 演讲之战 has six student speakers competing for first, 第二个, 第三名, as well as faculty choice and people's choice awards.

“This oral speaking competition is one of few in the city that showcases excellence in platform public speaking. We are excited to bring back this event after four long years. This will be our fifth annual battle and it's back and better than ever,” said event co-coordinator and faculty instructor Tim Molina.

“The Return of 西北维斯塔学院's 演讲之战 will be a showdown that you don't want to miss,莫利纳说.

学生们, who are currently enrolled at NVC, submitted speech outlines, 幻灯片, and works cited pages for verbal citations embedded within their presentation. After auditioning in person, the students worked with the speech faculty to polish their presentations.
