Everyone is an imprint of the past. I take this as my motto for the teaching and understanding of history. Based on my experience in studying history on the global scale, I bring with me a broad approach to how history, 以及它的后果, are experienced and understood. No matter who we are as individuals, we are a product of past events and processes. My goal is to aid student's wanting to break with the mold that society has historically brought them. Everyone deserves a chance to get a degree, and a job that brings out the best in them. I apply this ideology to the students I teach. My experience is different than others. I was born in a communist country during the Cold War, 当教育有限的时候, and advancement was only based on who you were in society. Luckily, my American parents adopted me, and got me out. My objective is to prove to students that their advancement is only limited where they think and feel it is. Once they prove to themselves they can and will push beyond their initial goals, 没有什么能阻止他们. I believe that my goal in life is to teach students in the hope that they carry with them a better understanding of who they are, and why society needs them to make the world better than it was in the past. Their past, does not have to control their future success!
