About the 兼职参议院
Adjunct 教师 comprise about 64% of the 教师 teaching force at NVC. English Department adjunct 教师 Kazia 美国东部时间rada and Laura Petersen founded the NVC附属参议院 in 2018 to highlight adjunct voices and provide a forum through which adjunct 教师 concerns could inform recommendations to college and district bodies.
目标
All part-time and full-time adjunct 教师 and 继续教育 adjunct 教师 employed at 西北维斯塔学院 are invited to join the 兼职参议院 as we work toward the following common goals:
- Increase the visibility and participation of the NVC adjunct 教师 in the college community.
- Encourage activities which support adjunct 教师 interaction.
- Promote professional development and interaction with the full time 教师.
- Provide a voice for adjunct 教师 on issues affecting the community of students, 教师, 政府, 还有机密人员.
- Pursue fair, equitable working conditions and pay for adjunct 教师.
会议
The 兼职参议院 meets the third Monday of each month at 6pm during long semesters via Zoom. Stay updated on events and meetings through the 附属参议院画布 页面.
All current NVC adjuncts are invited to join the Canvas NVC辅助社区 网站. Members can also click "Courses", 在左边, 灰色的菜单, then "All Courses" at the bottom, and search for "NVC辅助社区". If you do not see the course, click "Dashboard" 在左边, 灰色的菜单 and accept the pending invitation at the top of the 页面. If you do not have an invitation, please contact any 兼职参议院 member for assistance.
