NLC Receives Gold Recognition from Texas Veterans Commission

东北湖景学院 has been awarded the Gold 2022 Veterans Education Excellence Recognition Award (VEERA). The Texas State Legislature established the VEERA program to recognize public colleges and universities for their excellence in providing education and related services to veterans and the military-connected community (Tex. 政府. 法典第434条.252). 东北湖景学院 applied for recognition and showcased its commitment to ensuring the academic success of these individuals for the Academic Year 2021-2022.
“This is an amazing accomplishment,” says Dr. 维罗妮卡·加西亚，全国图书馆委员会主席. “As the newest of the 阿拉莫大学, we (NLC), just began offering Veteran benefits a few years ago. I credit the staff of our Veterans Center for continuing to enhance the services we provide for our Veteran students and their families.”

Continuing to expand its services to student Veterans and their families, NLC will break ground in November on a new $7.7米退伍军人中心大楼. The funds are part of the State of Texas appropriations provided to the 阿拉莫大学 for 2022-2023 and the stand-alone facility will provide a “one-stop” location offering a convenient central place for our military-connected community to have direct access to academic and non-academic services.
